Fresh and Salt Water Spinning

When the sun climbs, the salmon often seem to go deeper, perhaps to avoid the brightness. When they do this, it is highly profitable to go down too with your trolled lure, perhaps even down to 50 or 75 feet. To get down there with your light trolling outfit, suspend an independently weighted line from the side of the boat. Have a clothespin attached near the heavy lead weight. Then run from 30 to 50 feet of your fine spinning line beyond the clothespin's jaws. When the salmon strikes your lure, he'll automatically jerk your line free and then all that's between you and your cavorting fish is a fine line and a light rod. That's sport, raised to the third power. SPINNING WITH A BUBBLE
