It takes practice. Start practicing tomorrow on your front lawn or in the basement. Cut the finger tips off an old kid glove and fill them with sand, simulating differently weighted lures. Then set up hoop targets. Hammer away at a target 30 feet away with your battery of casts. Once you have gotten your arm and eye in at 30 feet, try a 40-foot target. Then move out to 50 feet. Now combine them, casting at the 30-foot hoop, then the 60, and back to the 50. When you're proficient at these, move the target out to 70, 80 and 90 feet. Although distance will force you to increase the elevation of your release, work to keep a fairly flat trajectory, plus that highly desired silent-dive finish. To save your good line, practice with an old one. 10A 10B
