Fresh and Salt Water Spinning

Because you will tend to release the line too soon, your first few casts may go almost straight up. (If you release too late they will slam down in front of you.) Don't let a few poor casts upset you. By determining the release point, you'll be on it soon. Then, by judging the flight of the lure and braking the reel at the right instant, your distance will be in hand before you know it. But don't try for distance: that will improve automatically with your timing. With lighter lures, your back cast must be made stronger and faster; with heavier lures, slower and easier. The lighter the lure, the greater the distance it should hang from the tip top. A dangling lure, when cast, will travel in a greater arc, thereby increasing its momentum for greater distance and casting ease. Thus, with the same rod, the same line, and the same reel setting on the cork grip, you'11 soon be able to cast quite a variety of lures easily. 6A, 6B & 6C
